I don’t think I’ve ever shared my daily routine with you. Now that I’m mostly working from home and not going to uni since I’m writing my bachelor thesis, I spend my days a little differently. I like working from home a lot, honestly, because I get to structure my day the way I want it so I can be the most productive that I can be. Here’s a sneak peek into my day-to-day.
My Daily Routine
Even though I could be sleeping a little more, I wake up every day at 6 to start the day early. I meditate for 10-20 minutes with Headspace (not sponsored, I recently started using the app and been loving it). Sometimes I combine meditation with light yoga.
I take a shower if I haven’t taken one the night before, brush my teeth, take my meds, throw on the kettle and start tidying my space a little (mostly putting clothes back into my wardrobe because they lie scattered most of the times). Then I sit down to do my skin care routine.
I have some breakfast, clean up a bit more, then do my beauty routine and get dressed.
I put on some YouTube or Spotify playlist and start going through my e-mails at my desk. I schedule to-dos for the day and the day after and make sure I get everything done I need to get done. I start with the things I dread the most, then work through a list of personal tasks, then business tasks. On some days I do little photo shoots for the blog once the sun is up.
I pack my bag, chuck in everything I need for the day, haul my laptop bag into it and I’m out the door. I find myself in a coffee shop or the library, where I get to work: whether that’s working on my novels, writing my bachelor thesis or writing new blog posts and newsletters.
1:00 / 2:00 P.M.
I get myself some lunch or eat the lunch I packed the night before. I also do some meditation whilst I’m having my break because sometimes I get overwhelmed. I do easy breathing exercises, then start journaling. Sometimes I journal first before meditating. Or I read a book or listen to a podcast. Sometimes I like to clear my head in my break, sometimes I like to keep my brain occupied with other things and new things to learn.
I get back to work and have snacks to get me through until dinner. I probably get coffee because I get a downer each time after lunch time. I work some more and make sure I get everything done on my to-do list or else I re-schedule some tasks.
This is where I stop working and hit up the gym for an hour.
After that, I meet up with friends or head to the boyfriend’s place. Or I get groceries to cook at my place for dinner. Most of the times I want to be eating mindfully without distractions but I often put on Netflix or YouTube.
I take off my make-up, take a quick shower, then do my nightly skincare routine, then read a book or watch some TV, or do some blogging. I get comfy and get ready to wind down from the day.
Realistically, this is where I hit the sheets. I’ve always gone to bed at 1 or 2 in the morning but these days I get exhausted more easily because of working the whole day. I use Headspace again to wind down and fall asleep.
